Kites
You may want to purchase a kite purely for fun day on the beach. If you are looking for more specialised kites, the following is being recommended by Sheffield Kite Fliers, a club of keen kite fliers:
-for 2-line and 4-line traction kites, it is worth investing in well known brands like EOLO Radsails especially for kite buggying and kite land boarding.
-watch out for kites made of heavy material (destroying the kites low wind performance) and which aren’t ripstop (so when a tear appears it isn’t stopped but keeps going causing lots of damage)
-check that the lines of your kite are all equal (or the kite pulls to one side all the time) and pre-stretched so the line length doesn’t alter unevenly when the kite is under plenty of power
- when it comes to the vents on the top of the traction kites, these need to point towards the flier when the kite is on the ground to catch the wind and inflate the kite. Be wary of some kites where the vents tend to point straight up making it hard to launch and get off the ground.
